Post the things about Tien Len or Dracis in general that you DON'T like, so they can be avoided on the new site. Anything is helpful, really. |

Is there a way to receive more money without looking for treasure? and shouldn't 4 2's be an automatic win? |

gogetta wrote: Is there a way to receive more money without looking for treasure? and shouldn't 4 2's be an automatic win? Yea, I am with Gogetta, i like that rule. In 17, maybe have 4 2's and beginning three wins. - Able to pass one rotation, then wait, and play a hand in the next time around. Rather than automatically pass until the entire sequence is finished. This aspect gives an extra strategy to the game. - In three player 17, the last card is given to the player with the starting 3 of spades. (The last card is flipped up for all to see. Maybe like a five second timer.) - Here is an useful autoplay: When a player throws down say Q-K-A_of_hearts, the players will NOT have to click pass. - Private rooms: I know I have accidentally intruded into some friend's games, when they were waiting for that person. Private rooms with host defined password. |

| - Maybe an animated card dealing. i.e. At the beginning of the game the cards are quickly animated to be dealt/"tossed" the cards like they are getting the cards from a real dealer. Thought that may be nice to implement, when playing 17 and the last card is flipped open. And it gives the player a nice feeling of anticipation like at a casino. | |

Hey. I made a new thread for rules in particular, as I meant this one to be for interface and general things. So I'll answer the points there: http://www.dracis.com/forum/Tien_Len_Project/336/ gogetta wrote: Is there a way to receive more money without looking for treasure? Treasures will very likely disappear for the new site, yes. So there'll be some refill and possibly a way to lend your friends some money. quote - Here is an useful autoplay: When a player throws down say Q-K-A_of_hearts, the players will NOT have to click pass. Aye, that's often been proposed and also considered. There are some problems with any form of "autoplay"... for starters, it can be confusing, and people might miss a play if they weren't looking. You can't put a timer on such things easily, as all other players would autopass also. So the MOMENT you throw your QKA(hearts)... it'd be your turn again, then the QKA would have to disappear right away, or stay on the table before you start your NEW round, which might confuse the player again. And even then... if you play the new combo quickly, then maybe some other player didn't see the QKA. Again causing confusion. In general I'm all for speeding things up, but I tried to stay away from ALL forms of auto-pass. However, if a combo obviously decides the end of the round (QKA, larger combo than other players have cards, etc.), then maybe a special announcement in the interface and swiftly end the play or somesuch. I'll try to think of something, and maybe we can try a few ways in beta-testing. :) quote - Private rooms: I know I have accidentally intruded into some friend's games, when they were waiting for that person. Private rooms with host defined password. A small point: you probably mean "table" here. Rooms are where many tables are created. But tables can be set to private already. And yes, that'll be possible again. The only thing currently missing is an "invite" feature to invite your friends. And that'll be added. I don't think password is the best way... direct invite is safer and easier, no? I am also contemplating the possibility of users making and maintaining their own *rooms*, which then can have limited access by your friends, and in which you could define your "house rules" that go for every table. tpgrnmnky wrote: - Maybe an animated card dealing. i.e. At the beginning of the game the cards are quickly animated to be dealt/"tossed" the cards like they are getting the cards from a real dealer. The interface speed will just have to be increased a bit, but seeing cards flying to you is a nice feature, I agree. |

i hate how you play with people and then they kick after you bet and the game has started, and making the table private(robbing) -_-t maybe you could set it so no longer exist, replacing them with automatically forfeiting the idle player after a time limit. OH TIME LIMIT; i say eliminate the time limit choices currently there and use only one time limit...30 secs? :\ |

phophreak911 wrote: i hate how you play with people and then they kick after you bet and the game has started, and making the table private(robbing) -_-t Yeah, such things are annoying, but so far I have no good idea. Maybe the game could be cancelled, but that'd give a host the power to cancel any game he cannot win. On the other hand it'd at least mean nobody else loses... and after a host pulls that stunt twice... players will just go to another table. quote maybe you could set it so no longer exist, replacing them with automatically forfeiting the idle player after a time limit. I didn't get that, yo. quote OH TIME LIMIT; i say eliminate the time limit choices currently there and use only one time limit...30 secs? :\ Hmm, yeh, the new clients will favour speed a bit, tho I'll still want a few more choices (maybe not that many), because sometimes people just want to play for fun while doing other things. Cutting down on the number of choices is a good idea, tho. |

| I think that everyone at the table should have to bet the same amount. Have different tables with different bet amounts. | |

Yeah, I think you're right about that. Also would -have- to bet at that table. Probably would be less confusing to users. The option is still nice (in my eyes), but I can see how it'd be easier to understand bets and wins. |
